At the Klein River Picnic Shed visitors can purchase a delicious picnic lunch and enjoy it on the banks of the tranquil Klein River; under the trees on the extensive lawns; or on the veranda of the beautifully renovated Picnic Shed. Special mini picnics are prepared for children and served in individual baskets so that they too get to enjoy the picnic experience.
The Picnic Basket is filled with freshly baked wares such as warm bread and mini quiches; seasonal salads, fruit / preserves; a Klein River cheese platter, cold meats and more.
Besides the Children’s picnic there is also a Tiny Tot picnic which is ideal for the younger children or those who are not as hungry.
To enjoy with your lunch, we have a selection of local wines as well as cold drinks, fruit juices and homemade ginger beer. Tea, coffee, baked cheesecake, decadent chocolate cake and Gruyere cheese scones are served too.
Situated near the Picnic Shed is a large playground as well as many different farm animals to keep the children happy and entertained.
We also cater for picnic parties & special occasions.
Directions:From Cape Town/Hermanus
Take the R43 to Hermanus. Drive through Hermanus and alongside the lagoon.
When you reach Stanford, turn left onto the R326.
After 7km turn left onto a short gravel road. The gravel turn off is well sign posted with blue & yellow banners advertising “cheese shop”; “play-park”; “picnic lunches” and “farm animals”
Follow the gravel road till the farm comes into view. Take the first road left (travelling past 2 silos) & follow the signs to the Picnic parking area.
